As a private bank, BSI was established on 1952 and from the very beginning endeavored to encourage innovation in banking services and respect customers and managed to attract a large amount of liquidity in a short period of time. Within a few years after its establishment, the first BSI overseas branch launched its operation in Hamburg, Germany which was followed by opening of other overseas branches.

BSI commenced its activity in the UAE on 1968 (Bur Dubai Branch) and now there are 8 branches in the UAE (Al Maktoum Road, Murshid Bazar, Shaikh Zayed Road, Bur Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain branches) plus 2 branches in Muscat and 2 others in Doha which are all under supervision of BSI Regional Office, located in Dubai, UAE.

BSI – UAE is mostly involved in trade financing in order to facilitate the trade between Islamic Republic of Iran and the United Arab Emirates. Therefore BSI strategically stands as one of the main banks that finance mutual country trade finance activities.
